| The Anchorage Tavern 823 Bay Avenue Somers Point The lovely Tamatha and I headed over to the Anchorage on Tuesday night. Somers Point is a town known for having lots of bars. There are at least 8, so picking one was tough. The Anchorage is probably the most popular, so thats where we decided to go. I'm not sure how it happened, but we ended up closing the bar, which isn't all that uncommon for a Saturday night, but it is not recommended for a Tuesday night when you have to wake up the next morning. I suspect that it had something to do with the fact that Tami didn't have to work the next day and she was very persuasive. I've been in the place on a Saturday night and it is packed, but even on a Tuesday it had a decent size crowd. The beers were about $2.50 for a pint of Yeungling, and they had awesome wings for a reasonable price. They also had pool tables in the back. At the end of the night it was just us and some older drunk guy who told us how he was an expert on eighties music. He said that he knew everything and knew more than almost anybody else. So, to quiz him, I asked him what group sang the song "Africa". His answer was "Asia", instead of the correct answer which would be Toto. Maybe his expertise was not eighties music, but world geography. Good Point about the bar: They poured the mixed drinks nice and strong. Tamatha was drinking Red Deaths all night and I had to almost carry her out to the car when we left. The service was quick too. I rarely had to wait more than 30 seconds at the bar before getting served. Bad Point about the bar: Can't really think of anything really bad about the bar. White trash factor (1-10): 5 Ratio of girls to guys: 1/3 Crowd density: Medium Age of the crowd: late twenties to early forties Overall rating: 7 - It was a pretty cool place overall, but in the end it is just like any other bar with a decent crowd and good food. There was nothing really special about it that made it stand out. |

| Here's Tamatha after about 4 Red Deaths. You can see her eyes are getting glazed over. |
