The lovely Tamatha and I went to the Hi-Point Pub in Absecon last night. This bar is
not only open 24 hours a day, but it is filled with customers at all hours. This is both
a blessing and a curse. It sounds like a great thing, but sometimes we need people
to throw us out of a bar at a certain time, or we’ll never leave. Many a nights, I’ve left
the Hi-Point and the sun was already up. It gets real interesting at about 4 A.M.
because people who work at night start to show up, like late night bartenders,
strippers, pimps and hookers. You’re always sure to meet interesting people there
no matter time you go though. The food at the Hi-Point is excellent. They have, no
shit, 31 different types of chicken wings. The flavors range from your traditional
buffalo, to strange flavors like Hot Blue Ranch, Pesto, Marsala, Dill, Gimlet Lime,
Chicken Gravy and Blackberry Hot. I tried the Red Eye Tequila and they were quite
possibly the hottest things I’ve ever eaten. Tami got the Hot Blue Ranch and they
were downright amazing. I honestly can’t remember how much the beers were
because I was running a tab, but Tami and I drank a shitload of them, plus two orders
of wings and the total came to $28, so I’m guessing they were pretty cheap.
Good Point about the bar: Its open 24 hours, they have 31 flavors of wings and
strippers at 4 A.M.
Bad Point about the bar: It is open 24 hours and the strippers don’t show up until 4
A.M.

Overall rating:6 – This bar has a lot of good points, like the wings and its open 24
hours, but in the end, it is still a local townie bar. I would definitely recommend
stopping by and checking it out though. It’s a good place to hang out, but I would
recommend getting there early if you scare easily.
